A Bouquet of Happy; New Work to Countdown to Spring

The countdown to Spring has officially begun for me as it is the first of March.  While the weather may not cooperative with the chance of wet snow on Friday,  there are many other days that promise  warmer temperatures and the return of the growing season.

Although work continues in the studio for the "Life Along Route 11" art show with the Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge at the Arts Depot in Abingdon, VA May 4- June 11, 2016,  it was time to do a fun floral.   I chose a heavily textures canvas as it is very difficult to get too specific or too detailed.  The "intentions" of the painting were to be swatches of bright color on a pretty light/dark background and to make the viewer happy.

The painting also expresses my anticipation of spring with blooming flowers in my garden.  Today my garden looks rather bleak with only a few daffodils sending up green shoots.  But since it is March 1 -- the countdown has begun!

Hope that you are seeing some signs of spring too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
