Day 11 - 30 Paintings in 30 Days More or Less

Today is the eleventh post in Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.

Dry Meadow
by Judith Flynn Lochbrunner
gouache on collage
6 by 6 inches

Acrylic gouache is opaque and flat (no shine).  For the past few weeks I have been experimenting with it on some mixed media works.   I had some extra paint left on the palette and picked up this collaged paper for some "play".  The colors seemed to indicate an abstracted landscape so I pushed that idea on the paper.  And now this is my first completed work in gouache.

Many thanks for following my blog and this painting challenge.

    1. Many thanks. It was fun to paint and that always make the painting more successful.

  2. Beautiful! Love the yellows in the foreground and where you've added them in the background.

    1. What a wonderful comment from a mixed media artist. Yellows are such a challenge but when they work they do sing.
