Today is the fourteenth day of Leslie Saeta's 30 painting in 30 days challenge.
The Advantageous Vine
by Judith Flynn Lochbrunner
mixed media on canvas
12 by 12 inches
This is another studio piece that gets its title from my vegetable garden. Every year toward the end of the summer purple flowers appear in the pole beans. It seems that at least one morning glory vine finds its way into my beans cleverly growing almost hidden, as its leaves closely resemble those of the beans. It is only the purple flower that gives it away that there is an "intruder" vine.
This painting is a tangle of flowers wrapped in such an advantageous vine. It brings a horizontal movement to contrast with the vertical stems of the flowers.
Thank you for staying with me as I continue this painting challenge.
