After seeing all the wonderful abstracts at the Lynchburg Art Festival last Saturday, it was impossible to not push this painting in that direction. The work had a wonderful start but it needed something different so I added bits of collage soon after I returned home. After the collage dried it was time for the real fun mixing layers of acrylic gouache, watercolors and acrylic paint. Much of the colors were added "wet -into-wet" which softened edges (and color changes). All of this brought the painting to my goal of creating something a bit "different".
Thank you for keeping up with this challenge. The month is quickly coming to a close and I'm already sure I will miss the challenge when it is finished.
