This is the "companion" plein air painting to post #6 "Town View". Even though the mountains were a cool blue color it was a very hot, hot morning. The trees blocked some of the views but there was a small gap that gave a glimpse of a field far in the distance. The mountains and fields were painted in and a focal area was set before the day became too uncomfortable.
Back in the studio there was simply the task to darken a few areas as well as to brighten other areas to bring a greater color contrast to the painting. Finishing up these plein air paintings in the studio has been an excellent painting exercise and I hope to apply what I have learned when I head back outside to paint.
Thanks for keeping up with my blog during this challenge.
