Nov/Dec2016 NewsBlog

With the holidays rapidly approaching it is time to keep you informed of all the events for the next two months.  While there are holiday activities listed, the real theme of this blog is to "Shop Local"

(Even before you step in the door, there is so much to see at Black Dog.)

While Art Night at the Dog on November 17 from 6-8PM may be past by the time you read this blog.  There is still the opportunity to shop the most famous marketplace in Roanoke.  Black Dog Salvage is open Monday-Saturday from 9 AM - 5 PM.  Check their Facebook page for holiday closings.  One of our favorite holiday traditions is to go shopping at Black Dog on Christmas Eve.  It is always a fun time.

(Only a very, very small peak at what you can possibly find in the shop
after seeing the Magnolia furniture, beautiful linens, painted furniture and so much more.)

Next up will be the Holiday Open House at Potentially Chic on Friday and Saturday, November 25-26.    This shop is always full of wonderful design ideas, accessories, Magnolia furniture, linens and other surprises.

(Goose Creek Studio's colorful exterior welcomes those in search of
fine arts and crafts plus a quality on-site frame shop.)

The 5th Annual Holliday Art Studio & Gallery Tour in the Town of Bedford will feature art studios and galleries throughout the Town of Bedford.  Goose Creek is one of the stops on the tour which will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 1:00-5:00 PM.   Artist demonstrations, unique one-of-a-kind gifts, and light refreshments will fill the afternoon.

(Look for the big "Open" flag in town
with plenty of parking near by to enjoy the Arts and Crafts Center.)

The Allegheny Highlands Arts and Crafts Center is a special place in the picturesque town of Clifton Forge.  I must confess that I have already  wrapped and mailed the presents purchased there as they have a wonderful selection fine arts and crafts.  Come for the shopping, stay for the food at one of the local restaurants and maybe even a show at the historic Masonic Theater.

(2nd Helpings is located in the Civic Mall just up Williamson Rd from the Roanoke Civic Center)

2nd Helpings Shop Gallery Cafe combines the fun of a thrift store, a yummy cafe and a selection of arts and crafts by local artists.  The bonus to this shop is that the proceeds benefit the Rescue Mission in Roanoke.

And yes my paintings are on for sale in all these wonderful stores.  I am happy to support them.   Please consider shopping and enjoying these special places over the holiday season.

Best wishes for a Joyful Holiday Season!
